Vannga TranBoston, MAEffective, Practical, Energetic, Enthusiastic, Positive, Caring, Creative, & Compassionate Teacher
I hold a Master of Arts in Liberal Arts with a Concentration in Linguistics and Language Education and a Graduate Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language from Clark University in the United States
In addition, I have a Bachelor of Arts in English and French from Worcester State University in the United States and a Bachelor of Arts in Philology from the University of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.
Furthermore, I hold an Associate of Arts in English and an Associate of Arts in French from the University of Ho Chi Minh City.
I have over 30 years of experience in teaching English as a Second Language (Intensive ESL and Integrated Skills ESL) at all levels from the Literacy Level to the Advanced Level as well as other types of English (Pre-English Composition/College Ready ESL for College ESL students, English Composition, Developmental English, Employment/Workplace English, and Post Employment English).
In addition, I have almost 7 years of experience in teaching English as a Foreign Language to individuals and small groups in Vietnam. I have taught ESL at various levels in colleges, universities, and social services organizations in the United States.
My philosophy of teaching is that teaching should be "student centered" and all my students have always been strongly encouraged to interact as much as possible in class with their classmates and teacher as well as participate actively in all classes activities and complete and submit homework regularly.
All my students have made considerable progress in learning English with me. I have integrated various media forms and visual and performing art forms in my lessons to make them lively and interesting to my students.
My ESL classes are integrated skills ESL which means all 4 skills (Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking) are taught to students. However, if you would like to focus in learning one or two skills in each class or just learn Grammar, I would accommodate your needs.
